Marino Ballena National Park
Located in Bahia Ballena , Uvita, Costa Rica, Marino Ballena National Park is the home of one of the most biologically diverse marine habitats in Costa Rica and one of the best places in the world for Whale Watching . July through the end of October is the best time to spot the majestic humpback whales, as the Southern Hemisphere Humpback whales migrate from Antarctica to the Marino Ballena National Park to breed and raise their calves. Late December through late February attracts the Northern Hemisphere Humpback whales to Costa Rica, which migrate from California and the Washington state. On a lucky day you could listen to the Whale love songs and feel the great sensation of watching a mammal that weighs more than 40 tons jump out of the water and splash its gigantic tail.
The Marino Ballena National ParkCorcovado National Park is open from 8 am to 4 pm. it’s closed on Tuesday. Entry ticket cost is $6 plus tax per person. Alcohol is not allowed.
Snorkeling: This tour is available only during the dry season : December through April, and it is open only during low tide. Please inquire as to tide availability at the reception desk. Duration: 3.5 hours. Tours include: Bilingual certified guides, boat transportation , purified water, fresh tropical fruits,snorkeling equipment , entrance fee to protected areas , life jackets for the boat ride . Not Included: ground transportation service , crew tip. Cost: $70 per person.
Whale Watching Tour: (July to October) This tour includes refreshments (Coffee / Natural Juice / Snacks) prior to the tour, entrance to Marino Ballena National Park, Naturalist Guide, tour in the boat for 2 hours and 30 minutes, refreshments (Water / Natural Refreshment / snacks and fruits), snorkeling session for 20 minutes (if conditions permit), visit to the most representative locations of Marino Ballena National Park. Cost $75.
