The Terraba River is the longest river in Costa Rica.
At one of the termination points of the river, there is a separation of the long strait of Isla Garza from the rest of the country.
The terraba contains rip currents and is the habitat of crocodiles and sharks. Almost no one surfs at Isla Garza, as the only access is by boat.
However upstream in the river, there is a paradise of mangroves forests with a great diversity of birds and amphibians.
